Nina Starkweather, LPN

Nina took excellent care of my mother, Kathleen, while she was at Unity. She paid very close attention to all her needs and symptoms. The hospital was going to discharge my mother when Nina noticed something was not right with her. She was having new confusion that we had never seen with her before. She was also extremely short of breath with very little movement.

Nina’s attentiveness allowed the doctor to come evaluate her and order a CT, which resulted in her discharge being canceled and her staying in the hospital. Nina also advocated for her to have oxygen at home, which we have been trying to get for years. I’m very thankful for Nina’s attentive care because if we had taken her home, we would have had to bring her right back the next day, with her possibly being in worse condition.

Nina treated my mother as her own and tended to each and every need she had. Due to the care and compassion she showed, we were able to make my mother's comfort care and bring her home to spend her last days with us in her most comfortable setting. Thank you, Nina, for all you did! You will not be forgotten.
