Ning Carter has worked at Saint Joseph hospital since 2000. From fledgling nurses on the units to those in the ICUs, Ning has always been a deep resource of medical knowledge and is a respected colleague to all. As an RRT nurse, Ning deals with the entire staff community at Saint Joseph's. She helps the unit nurses learn how to manage everything from crisis management to disease process to starting an amiodarone drip. Ning's calm, compassionate manner combined with her depth of medical knowledge makes her an invaluable team member for the night staff.
Ning helps the ED nurses with everything from administering TPA for an acute stroke patient to transferring critical patients to the Units when ED beds are full. She also takes the time to help educate both the patient and the critical care nurse, fostering a good understanding of the patient's condition while she imparts the required systems and treatment options to those who need them. After she has safely transitioned the rapid response patient to the ICU she will return to the originating floor to discuss the what, why and treatment choices so that the floor nurses can learn from the experience as well.
When Ning shares her insights the nurses take the time to listen and learn. Ning is a walking book of knowledge, experience and profound caring. We are very blessed to claim her as one of our own.
