I am honored to commend Noah Washatko for the extraordinary care he provided to my 83-year-old father during his stay in Short Stay.

From the very beginning, Noah created an environment where my father felt safe, supported, and genuinely cared for. He connected with him not just as a patient, but as a person—bringing kindness, humor, and empathy into every interaction. Those touches made a meaningful difference in what could have been an overwhelming experience for both my father and our family.

As a pharmacist who is closely involved in my father’s care, I pay particular attention to how clinical information is communicated. Noah’s approach to education was truly exceptional. He didn’t just provide instructions—he ensured understanding. He took the time to walk through medications in detail, answered every question patiently and in a way that was appropriate for my father, and, most importantly, explained the “why” behind each aspect of care.

Because of this thoughtful approach, my father left not only with instructions, but with confidence and motivation to follow them. This will have a lasting impact on his recovery and his willingness to engage in his post-surgical care.

One moment that stood out was Noah having my father practice with the spirometer before discharge. It would have been easy to simply explain it, but Noah made sure he was comfortable and capable before leaving. He also checked in regularly throughout the stay, consistently reinforcing that my father’s comfort and understanding mattered.

Noah’s compassion, clinical excellence, and dedication to patient-centered care were evident in every interaction. He embodies what it means to be a nurse who goes above and beyond—not just meeting expectations but truly elevating the patient experience.

I am deeply grateful for the care he provided and for the lasting positive impact he has made on my father’s recovery.

Thank you, Noah, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
