Noehmi always goes above and beyond to care for all our patients, especially the smallest among them. In fact, she has been called a "child whisperer!" Noehmi creates extraordinary interactions with pediatric patients coming to Day Surgery to have a CT scan, MRI, or radiology procedure. Under Noehmi's watchful eye and calming presence, they have the procedure without any sedation at all--what a great benefit for everyone in making their hospital stay shorter, less complicated and much safer.

In December, the DSU had a mentally challenged 10 year old patient scheduled for general anesthesia for a radiology procedure. After Noehmi spent some time with him and his mom, he had the procedure without sedation. The nurses reported how proud he was of himself and the happiness he had when leaving the hospital. According to the many nominations received, this is standard practice for Noehmi; she is thoughtful, kind, patient, and gentle in every encounter she has with others. Her skill set is encompassing as well - it has been said she could start an IV on a butterfly!

Several of her nominators said Noehmi is everything we can only aspire to be - we wish we could be like her all the time.
