She was like a comforting long-time friend within minutes of getting to know her --her empathetic skills are second to none
I am 48 and just recently had to stay in the hospital for a few days for the first time in my life. I was terrified---it was a whirlwind day to begin with so ending up in a hospital bed transferred up from Emergency was the last thing I had planned for the day. Noelle was unbelievably kind, funny, and could see that through my attempted humor and being a mature adult, deep down I was a scared kid unsure of anything and everything that was happening to me. Noelle recognized that and was a calming force--when I had to get wheeled down for a CT scan, and then an MRI scan she described the process and put my mind at ease. She was like a comforting long-time friend within minutes of getting to know her --her empathetic skills are second to none--and this is coming from someone who taught college-level hospitality and customer service classes for years. Even when I was transferred to another floor to a shared room, Noelle made it a point to come down and say hello and see how everything was going before I was discharged. Honestly, I'm not sure I would have made it through my first night alone in that room if it were not for her. She is a gem, and most certainly deserving of this recognition!
