November 2021 Honoree
Noemi Adams, BSN, RN
The ICU has had very demanding patients with specialized care needs. Two particular patients have required new treatment options available only for a short time at St. Rita’s. The care provided to these two patients is only able to be given by a small team.
At the start of her shift, Noemi brought in an LED candle with the picture of St. Peregrine and a prayer on the back. St. Peregrine is the saint of people with cancer, AIDS, and other life-threatening diseases.
Noemi stated, “I brought this to place between these two patients in hopes of healing.” Other nurses turned the “candle” off, then on again, to “light” the candle for these patients. Later that evening, someone placed a rosary around the “candle.”
These actions speak to the amazing group I work with. Noemi provides excellent care to all her patients and is always an example of showing the core values. This is just one example.
Thank you, Noemi, for being an amazing person, mother, wife, nurse, and coworker!
