Like many of the nurses my wife has had this week and over the last 3 years, Nohemy was great with my wife. She was never late in her rounds. If my wife moved, she was there (T was on a vent at the time). If it was time to brush her teeth, she was there. If I needed to move out of the way, she didn’t beat around the bush, but she was also not rude when she would say, "You are not doing anything wrong, I just need you to move."

With that said, the reason I am making this nomination is that after trying to remove my wife from the vent, T would get stressed and have high anxiety. Because of how calm Nohemy was for three days, I asked her to just talk to my wife and keep her calm. It was the first time in 3 years I felt comfortable and able to stand back and trust the one caring for her medically and emotionally help my wife. I just really felt she went over and beyond. As she stopped to do things like braid my wife’s hair, she gave me a chance to go home and nap without worry.
