Nonso took over for another RN during the middle of the shift, this was not comforting, but the change was right. I was feeling very concerned after my husband returned form the MRI. He was no longer responsive. For the rest of the night, Nonso allowed me to ask any question that I had. This was most important to me as my husband could not speak for himself. He answered all my questions about labs, explained medications, and he even read the MRI note verbatim and told me that the Doctor would explain it in detail. He told me that the Doctor via the robot would make rounds and that I could ask questions. This was helpful and allowed me to prepare my list of questions.
Nonso did not only provide wonderful care for my husband, but he helped me also to care for my husband. Being the main caregiver on my husband's team this was important to me. Nonso understood that. My brother, who is caretaker #2 for my husband also covered for me while I took care of myself. While I was out Nonso communicated with my brother anything that needed to be conveyed. I did not miss anything. I am grateful and very appreciative for the care Nonso gave my husband. I am extremely thankful he understood and respectfully allowed me and my brother to participate.
