July 2023 Honoree
Nora A Nolen, RN
On Wednesday, Nora was floated to the 5th floor from ICU. One of her patients was dying. The patient was a DNR and had no family present. She called the family to let them know the patient was actively dying and would pass soon. Nora sat with the patient and held his hand until the family arrived. This was so heartfelt and just spoke to why we become nurses. To care about our patients. This was so amazing to me and is an example we could all follow to provide care to patients and show compassion. Nora made sure the patient wasn’t alone and would know that someone was there.
Thank you, Nora A, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
