Noreen Riordan is one of the best nurses I have ever had the privilege to work with. Every single day, Noreen gives her very best to both patients and staff members regardless of outside distractions. She's incredibly dedicated and committed to helping oncology patients navigate through their cancer journey. Her kindness and compassion can be seen in each of her patient interactions, where she often goes above and beyond. Walking patients over to other departments in the building so they do not get lost, to helping patients get ready for their radiation treatment are some examples. Noreen is phenomenal at evaluating barriers to care and coming up with creative approaches to providing meaningful assistance. She's always willing to help a team member in need even when she has a full workload. She is an excellent interdisciplinary team member and communicates efficiently. There are too many patients that come to mind when I think of how Noreen has made a positive lasting impression in their life as well as their family members. Another example is when a patient was having trouble affording clothes after she lost a significant amount of weight from chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Noreen took up a collection of gently used clothes from her and her family to donate to this patient. The joy that it brought to this patient was not only meaningful but inspirational to others as well. I'm able to do my job more effectively because of Noreen.
