The three most essential things in life for Noris are God, family, and nursing, in that order.
Noris E. Larkin is a registered nurse in San Mateo, California, working as the Associate Chief Nursing Officer for San Mateo Medical Center Hospital and Clinics. She was born and raised in Panama with her parents and an extensive family. Noris has dedicated the last 23 years of her nursing career to serving vulnerable populations in San Mateo, California. She is a transformational leader who leads by example. She is passionate about nursing and improving nursing care across the patient continuum. Noris is also passionate about the fight against breast cancer. She is the San Mateo Medical Center Breast Cancer Support Group co-founder, which she chaired for 12 years. Her plans include work in nursing leadership, as a medical provider, and as a nursing professor. The three most essential things in life for Noris are God, family, and nursing, in that order. The Saint Mary's Department of Nursing Science would like to recognize Noris Larkin as the recipient of the 2021 DAISY award for DNP graduates. The DAISY Award is a nationwide program that recognizes nursing excellence. The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses honors nurses for providing extraordinary care to patients and their families. This award recognizes nurses for Caring: Demonstrating extraordinary compassionate care of patients and their families. Advocating: Going above and beyond and serving as a voice for the patient’s needs or wants. Leading: Being an extraordinary team member, demonstrating professionalism and outstanding clinical skills, as well as working with peers to improve the nursing profession and patient care.
