Norma is a DAISY Nurse with 27 years of amazing service. Over the years she has been a preceptor, heart nurse and currently is a Charge Nurse. She is always willing to help and educate. Norma made my transition to the ICU a positive experience by coaching, educating and being supportive of me when I needed help. Not only does Norma enjoy teaching and passing along her knowledge to new ICU nurses, I have witnessed her being incredibly supportive with patients and family members.
Norma was supportive by helping a family of a dying patient with their questions about comfort care, mortuary information etc. Norma addressed their questions and concerns and put them at ease, she helped them understand that their loved one was being kept comfortable and was not in pain or suffering in any way. The family was incredibly grateful and thankful to her. Norma was very attentive and gentle with them as if they were her own family.
