Her bilingual abilities have made a profound difference for so many of our Spanish-speaking patients, helping bridge communication gaps and ensuring they feel safe and heard. I have witnessed Norma caring for the elderly with no family nearby that were visibly anxious about their diagnosis and just being in the hospital. She has stayed at the bedside with those patients who were explaining conditions in a calm and reassuring manner and helping them find peace and clarity during frightening times.
