It is always a pleasure to do rounds on Novlette Montaque's patients. She has had many patients who describe her as the "quirky nurse who loves her job". The joy in their eyes as they remember her is what we enjoy seeing the most. Novlette is definitely one of those special people who, once she enters your life, you are undeniably one of the lucky ones. She is able to talk to the patients and explain in terms that leave that particular patient feeling satisfied. She is very attentive, authentic and informative. She can keep our patients going each day just thinking about the advice she gives them. She often brings in articles with uplifting messages for our oncology patients that lightens their outlook on the journey they are about to embark upon. It is not uncommon to see Novlette come in on her day off (even if she has just completed a night shift) to sit with a patient before a procedure and allow them to talk about their fears because they had no family to be at their bedside. Novelette is truly a shining star among stars.
