I would like to recognize all the nurses assigned to me during my week-long stay on the 6th floor. Each and every one of them showed outstanding service, excellent professional skills in assessing and decision-making in my case. But compassion overruled all of these attributes.
It is not easy to be laid up for 7 days, isolated in a small room, at least an hour and a half from home. They filled my room with laughter, conversation, and brought joy. They filled me with hope, kept my spirits up, and calmed me when I was frustrated. Their cheerfulness became contagious whenever they entered the room.
