I would like to take the time to thank the staff who have graciously gone above and beyond to help me on my journey to recovery. Recently, I suffered my 5th stroke. That day has changed my life because some wonderful people walked into it from West Florida Rehab.
First, I'd like to thank my doctors, Dr. V, and Dr. M, for not only getting my meds adjusted and working but listening to what I had to say and understanding when something isn't right. I appreciate all you have done and look forward to many years of being a patient now to my nurses.
Secondly, Heidi Wesenberg, an RN, brightened my day and nights every time I saw her face. She kept my spirits high and never let me down. She cheered me up when I was down. Miss Toni Duncan, in OT, helped me find my "Happy Place." This helped me in so many ways! She became such a great sounding board. I just love her. She was an awesome person and a great OT. Her meditation and yoga stuff was really helpful and relaxing. Keep it up!
Thirdly, Miss Sara Demuth, in OT, kicked my butt. But, I am grateful for it. I don't think I'd be walking if it was not for Sara. She pushed me, but in a good way. She was always so positive and made me feel good. I wouldn't change the experience one bit. I love that woman and will come to visit just to say "hi" and get a hug and a fist bump.
Fourthly, Mr. Tyler Adams, in PT, was awesome and encouraging. He was always a cheerleader and pushing me when I was with him. Miss Allie Hemphill, in SLP, taught me to over-articulate to get the letters out that weren't coming. I'm still working on that, but I really appreciate the hard work she instilled in me.
Fifthly, Miss Carrie Rayburn, in RT, was awesome. She came always to get me to spend time and do some activities. I had fun with her! She was a sweetie!
Finally, the biggest thank you I have is Miss Anitra Brooks, a CNA, one of my techs and an angel on earth. One day, my clothes got put in a linen bag and taken down with the towels. Needless to say, the clothes were never found. I was devastated because I don't have many clothes. I had brought most of my clothes with me. Next thing, I hear a knock on the door and Miss Anitra comes in with some beautiful new clothes, most still had tags on them. I'm in shock. Anitra explained she called her mother and told her of my situation. Anitra's mom went through her closet and donated clothes to me and the facility. I was so touched. Anitra and her mother didn't have to do that. I appreciate it so much. I felt so beautiful in them. I am so blessed for everything this facility has given me. From my strength, willpower, endurance, and faith in people. Thank you. Bless you, all!
