I have often heard people say that nurses are not just caregivers but also calming voices, familiar faces of compassion, and around-the-clock best friends! She made us feel that on the first day, everything was going to be all right. Nyla made sure we were always comfortable, checking to make sure if we needed anything and that meals were brought up correctly. As much as we couldn’t wait to go home, we were sad to say goodbye. Nyla took us to our car and even called back to make sure we arrived home safely. Someone like Nyla, you don’t just part with because you are discharged from the hospital. You are now like family!
