I have to say that since (patient name) came into OMH this last time, I didn’t know if she would be able to go home again, and everyone in CCU and here on the 6th floor that has taken care of her (and me too) have given EXCELLENT care and served her to recovery, for which I am SO GRATEFUL!!
The Respiratory Techs, the Doctors, and the Dialysis Team, and all Palliative Care reps, and Management have been terrific.
I want to thank EVERYBODY for pulling for her, not only by nursing care and doctor care, etc., BUT BY PRAYER!!
You have been great, one and all, and I just don’t want to single anyone out, so I don’t exclude anyone else!!
Except Ralph in CCU: his sense of humor saw me through some tough moments, and I want him to keep that up for others!
Thanks to everyone for giving me coffee to make my stay here a lot easier to handle!
You’re all the best there are, and I BLESS YOU ALL IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS!!

If only all nurses and support staff were as attentive as the names I have listed above (CCU and Surgical Specialty)…from the time my husband was admitted to the 6th floor until he was transferred to ICU, the care that he received was exceptional. As I told Gretchen (Barker), I would not be able to find a complaint no matter how hard I would look. The compassion, concern and care was evident every time someone would walk in the room.
Even during the most stressful and frightening times that were experienced, I knew that everyone involved was trying their best to provide the best care possible. Not one time did I hear a complaint or anything negative from the staff. It was quite evident that their only concern was for the patient. Observing the interaction among the staff, it was clearly evident that they respected each other and never seemed to hesitate to help each other out.
Natalie (Goldsmith) was by our side both times a rapid response was called, and she was such a calming force for me. She made sure that I was kept informed about everything that was happening and kept reassuring me that my husband was in good hands.
Even after my husband was transferred to ICU, the above staff visited him in the unit. That speaks volumes about the caliber of the staff that cared for my husband. They should be the gold standard by which other employees pattern themselves. It is our hope that each one of them will receive individual recognition for going above and beyond and for genuinely caring about us. I just hope I haven’t left anyone out…
