The end of 2024 was a very difficult time for me. After my C-section, I developed a breast abscess caused by blocked milk ducts that required mastitis surgery. I never imagined I would need surgery for mastitis, and afterward, the surgical wound was left open instead of being stitched. It required sterile, meticulous wound care every single day.

Neither my family nor I felt comfortable cleaning such a large wound ourselves, so we requested wound care services through Siloam at Home. That is when we met Nurse Laras.

From the very beginning, she encouraged me every day and carefully documented my healing by taking photos of my wound so I could see the progress myself. Little by little, my wound improved. Unfortunately, I eventually had to undergo a second mastitis surgery because another blocked area was discovered, turning what had been one wound into two. I was heartbroken and cried often, but Nurse Laras never stopped encouraging me.

We fought this battle together. I fought to heal, and Nurse Laras fought alongside me by providing exceptional wound care. Every day we discussed ways to help the wounds dry more quickly, and she continually supported me so I would not give up breastfeeding, even though my baby was only one month old.

After three months, my wounds had healed enough that I finally felt confident caring for them on my own. It was a long journey that taught me many lessons. Sometimes, true blessings are not measured by money. Meeting genuinely good people is an extraordinary blessing in itself.

Thank you, Nurse Laras.

***

I was involved in a motorcycle accident that left my right hand broken and requiring surgery to insert a pin.

To continue my recovery at home, my husband enrolled me in the Siloam at Home program, where I was cared for by Nurse Larasati.

She was incredibly patient, kind, and compassionate throughout my recovery. She was always supportive and responsive whenever I needed assistance, and it was evident that she cared for her patients wholeheartedly and sincerely.

In addition to providing excellent wound care, she taught me how to properly care for my surgical incision to prevent bacterial and viral infections. She also instructed me on relaxation techniques and exercises for my left hand to prevent stiffness and muscle weakness during my recovery.

I am extremely satisfied with the care and support she provided. Thank you, Nurse Larasati.

Thank you, Octien, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
