Ogechi has been able to lead a team during a really difficult time in supporting this patient. Her communication with nurses and the rest of the MDT has been very clear and concise when discussing a really emotive topic.
I would like to put Charge Nurse Ogechi forward for this award because of the amazing kind and consistent support, encouragement, and guidance she has given me.
I was diagnosed with terminal cancer end of 2019 and Ogechi has helped me to be more positive and to challenge negative thoughts. At one point I was having suicidal thoughts and she worked so hard with me to make me see things in a different way and to make me not just give up but keep going. She has also helped me to be less pessimistic and more optimistic.
Ogechi has made a considerable effort with me, and I cannot emphasize enough how grateful I am for someone to be so kind to help me to the extent she has and continues to do so. I think her winning this award would be great and to be recognized for her immense effort.

My nomination to support the patient letter above, he was very keen for the nurse to be nominated for the award when passing me his letter of appreciation. I cannot empathize enough the difficult journey that this patient and indeed the ward have and are currently managing.
Ogechi has been able to lead a team during a really difficult time in supporting this patient. Her communication with nurses and the rest of the MDT has been very clear and concise when discussing a really emotive topic. She has been able to support her team with their concerns. Ogechi has ensured that the patient has been able to maintain links with his physical health consultant and arranged video calling etc. to ensure the patient is fully informed throughout his illness. This may to others seem an easy task but when working in a Forensic setting it certainly takes some planning in terms of associated risks, confidentiality, and ensuring that the patient is well supported when receiving life-changing information.
Ogechi has spent time with this patient ensuring that he has understood all treatment options and listened to his feelings and thoughts around this which is then shared with other members of the MDT in order to make informed decisions together. Her compassion and professional approach is reflecting on others regarding patient care and continues to be a great role model to all.
