Oksana is the epitome of what it means to be a caring and compassionate nurse. I met Oksana originally in 2020 when we started as new graduate nurses at St. Peter's Hospital's post-partum unit. Her passion and love for this patient population and profession have been evident since that day. At the time, I had only seen glimpses of how passionate she was in this field when she would help me with teaching patients how to breastfeed or if I needed an extra hand.

Flash forward to September 2022 - I was able to experience what it was like to have her as my nurse for my first baby. Her excitement for every step of progress in laboring patients, her passion to teach both mom and dad and her drive to make every experience fun and memorable is absolutely astounding.

Oksana was quick to boost my spirits between pushes, to advocate when needed, and was able to make such a vulnerable time feel natural and normal. She eased my husband's worries and my own with how confidently she approached every aspect of the delivery while also teaching a nursing student.

Words cannot thank her enough for how amazing she made such a crazy experience. I would easily nominate her for 10 DAISY Awards if I could! St. Peter's Hospital is lucky to have her on its team!
