I'm a caretaker and family member of C. I brought him to the ER due to problems with his prostate several months ago. He was treated and referred to follow up with his physician, however, unfortunately, he never submitted the referral to a urologist. Chris's condition was worsening; I brought him back to the ER, he was admitted and treated for several serious issues, and we found out he has prostate cancer. I am thankful for all of the staff and the medical attention C has received, however, Nurse Olena left a lasting impression on us. She's such a pleasant and sincere nurse who demonstrated compassion, diligence, competence, professionalism, good attitude, who follows up and follows through, even with returning phone calls to family. I had many questions; she was a very patient listener who clearly explained and demonstrated care for C. This allowed me to learn so that I can better care for him with a catheter and new medications when we get home. Not only did she provide excellent care for C, but she also showed care and compassion and accommodated me as his caretaker/family. This allowed me to remain with him, to ease his mental health issues, and provide him additional support during this difficult time to obtain the life-saving medical attention he needed.
