Nurses like Olga deserve a trophy daily! Our family was blessed with the confidence that Dad's last days were filled with the utmost care and loving compassion. My dad repeatedly said, "I love Olga!" And for good reason! She treated him not just as a patient but as a daughter would, comforting and caring for an ill parent. She really took the time to get to know him and what makes his eyes light up. His emotional and psychological needs were met in a compassionate way from the Frank Sinatra music requests to lighten the mood during bed rotations to making him (her specialty) chocolate protein milkshakes that nourished him. I am confident that her care helped us make the most of his end-of-life rally. As Dad's health ultimately deteriorated to the point that we had to honor Dad's wishes to transition to comfort care Olga was there. While we waited on a room to open up, Olga was there, calm and comforting, explaining the process as it was unfolding before our very eyes. Her passion is evident in her whole-hearted care as well as her superpower to return daily to do it again when not a single person is promised tomorrow.
