Olga continues to pleasantly surprise her clinical director with her care and compassion. Throughout her director's last 3 years at Monmouth Medical Center, she has yet to come across another nurse that demonstrates and incorporates all 10 of Watson's Caritas Processes into her daily care. When she is at the bedside with her patients she is always present and enables her patients and family to be active in their plan of care. She is a strong patient advocate clinically and is always critically thinking. The best part of watching Olga practice the art of nursing is her innate need for caring for her whole patient. She takes the extra time to ensure her patients are comfortable and have all they need. Olga works hard to nurture the essential human needs of basic care. She constantly teaches to make sure patients know and understand their plan of care.
Olga had an elderly woman who was very embarrassed by an event that happened. Olga assured the patient these things happen and made her feel at ease. It may seem simple, but a few minutes later she was on the phone with her husband stating, "Oh I have the best nurse! I was on the verge of tears and she made it better. I had an accident and she made me feel like everything was OK and helped alleviated my anxiety." Every interaction Olga has leaves the patient feeling extra special and that their voice is being heard. Leadership rounds only confirm that Olga is so excellent deserves to be recognized for her outstanding transition into the nursing profession.
