February 2026 Honoree
Olivia Cuasay, RN
My mother, B, is cursed with rolling/impossible veins, and of course, she would need to have needles inserted into them at each and every visit. Every nurse would attempt the task, and if they couldn't get the job done, they would immediately seek assistance from another nurse. One specific nurse, Olivia Cuasay, would do her best to be available when B had appointments so she could insert the needle; she could do it with her eyes closed. Of all the appointments we had on the 5th floor and in 3 ACC, we were assigned to Olivia once, possibly twice; however, out of her compassion and professionalism, she always tried her best to be available to insert the needle. That demonstrates the attributes of the petals of the DAISY and should be awarded to her.
Thank you, Olivia, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
