I wanted to share an experience, my (89-year-old) mother went in the Hillcrest ER on Friday. My mother has only received care at another facility for her entire life except once. Recently, she was rushed to the Hillcrest ER for chest pains and shortness of breath and I told the ambulance to take her to Hillcrest. (She was so upset when she arrived) and she shared that with any and everyone that night. After meeting with the doctors and nurses, they found and addressed my mother's issues but the best part was that one person was being more than an ER nurse. The way Mrs. Olivia Grace cared for my mother and the attentiveness she showed to help her feel comfortable was OUTSTANDING. Around 3 am my mother was getting concerned about me having to leave the next morning and was worried I would be too tired to drive Saturday morning and wanted me to get some rest. Nurse Grace noticed how my mother's attention was becoming focused on me getting rest vs her getting well. She stepped in to ask my mother what was wrong and my mother said, my son needs to get some rest for his game tomorrow. She told my mother she would handle it. Nurse Grace told me to get some rest and she would keep my family updated on my mother (all 9 children) she texted us every 30 mins until my mother was placed in a room and passed the message on to the nurses on the 7th floor. Nurse Grace was just amazing, not only did she have a big impact on all 9 children, but she also changed my mother's feelings about Hillcrest and the care she received. Upon checking out my mother wanted to hug everyone that had cared for her during her stay, mainly Nurse Grace.
