Olivia was an energetic nurse who lived out our mission. She touched the lives of many, restoring, maintaining, and improving health.
We recently lost Olivia Guidry, RN. Her team loved her and miss her dearly. Her family was present to receive the award in her honor. She was nominated over 25 times by her peers! Below are just a few of the comments made by her peers on this truly beautiful young lady.
Olivia Guidry, RN was one of the hardest working, loving, smart, funny, and a shining light in our stressful ED. I'm so lucky to have known her, worked beside her, and call her a friend!
I believe Olivia is one of the most underrated nurses in the department. During every shift I worked with her, Olivia always went above and beyond for patients, families, and staff. She was a true team player and could always be relied on. I witnessed her constant positive attitude promote a healthy work environment among staff and patients. Olivia’s commitment to excellence continues to motivate me to achieve better outcomes. I am proud to have witnessed Olivia meet each of the core values listed below.
Olivia was one of the kindest, most intelligent, and fun spirited people and nurses that I ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her loss will truly be felt for a long time to come and her beautiful memory deserves to be honored.
Olivia Guidry, or as we called her Livy, was a young 24-year-old filled with vibrancy and an exceptional nurse. She cared for every patient with the utmost respect and humanity. She lived life to the fullest and there was never a dull moment being around her. She had plans to attend Med School to become an ER doctor. Livy was just like a DAISY, bright and full of life.
Patients remember her by name because of her generosity and caring nature. One day Livy and I were sending a patient to his room upstairs and he stated, "You were the best nurse I've ever had. You were always there when I called and always reassured me that I was in good hands." Although Livy has unfortunately passed on, and so suddenly, her legacy lives on forever and she will always be our DAISY in the ED and in our everyday lives.
Olivia's patients loved her because of her bubbly personality. The staff loved her for that, but so much more. She was smart, hard-working, and one of our favorite nurses to work with. I cannot fathom a more fitting nurse to receive the first DAISY Award here as she is the definition of what OLGMC wants in their nurses.
Olivia was an energetic nurse who lived out our mission. She touched the lives of many, restoring, maintaining, and improving health. Olivia was the prime example of what a nurse should be. Caring, kind, intelligent, and most of all she put her patient and their needs first. She was so selfless, and she made her patients feel like they were her family.
As a team member, Olivia was always super helpful and knew how to make everyone smile when morale was low. She was so eager to learn and jump in and help wherever needed. Olivia was a light within our department. She loved caring for patients and her patients loved her. She was vibrant and compassionate. She exemplified all of our standards.
Olivia was always positive and uplifting. Her smile and distinctive laugh will always be remembered. Olivia always strived as a beacon of light in the ED, whether that be to co-workers or patients alike. Olivia found the value in establishing connections with others through humor and light-heartedness, while still displaying utmost empathy and compassion to the patients' circumstances.
