After a traumatic car accident, laying in the emergency room for 12 hours without being moved to a room, and being lost in the shuffle of a very bust area of the hospital, I finally felt seen and heard for the first time. Olivia was my nurse and was like a real angel on earth. Her kindness, knowledge, and support were evident from the moment I met her. I was lucky to have her as a nurse two nights in a row. After feeling dismissed about my pain or my feelings on the day shift that Friday, I felt relieved as if I had come back to life when she returned Friday evening. I consistently watched her do the job of two people with a smile on her face. She was there for me every time I needed meds, the bathroom, or a pillow. There was nothing she was not willing to do. She was one of the nurses who left an impact on my heart.
