Nurse on an airplane, passenger suffers cardiac arrest, nurse takes over and saves life … sounds like a scene from a movie, doesn’t it? Well, for one lucky passenger, Olivia Sta Rosa was on board that day. And thanks to her clinical expertise and response to an emergency situation, Olivia took control and successfully resuscitated the passenger. Because of her proactive response, the patient “is alive, well and recovering back at his residence.”
In fact, a physician on board the flight stated that “Olivia’s quick thinking and expertise … she saved his life.” And lastly, her nominator added “… under an extremely difficult situation, Olivia did, indeed, exemplify the healing mission and core values that Saint Agnes strives to demonstrate to all its patients.”
