Her professionalism, empathy, knowledge, and ability to explain/educate – were immediately on display, which really put my mind at ease and allowed us to find an effective mediation regimen to address the pain quickly.
I had a retroperitoneal lymph node dissection (RPLND), which requires a great deal of post-operative care. My first night was very difficult as the pain was difficult to get under control. Olivia was my day nurse after that first night, and she played an integral role in getting things turned around. Her professionalism, empathy, knowledge, and ability to explain/educate – were immediately on display, which really put my mind at ease and allowed us to find an effective mediation regimen to address the pain quickly. After already going through four rounds of chemo subsequent to an orchiectomy, my wife and I were worn out by the time this procedure was performed. Olivia helped us navigate a very difficult but necessary process, and we are incredibly grateful to her (and the whole team) for that! Thanks to her, we were able to wrap our heads around the complex recovery process. By the time of discharge, we felt confident in our ability to continue the recovery process at our home because she did such a wonderful job of educating us in a gentle and understanding manner.

Lastly, her cheerfulness and terrific attitude elevated my mood and eased my stress in a meaningful way. Her joy and laughter brought comfort and truly made the recovery process easier. In essence, we could not be more grateful that Olivia was my charge nurse during this intense recovery process. She was amazing and, in my strongest opinion, deserves recognition for her most excellent service!
