Since day 1, Omar was eager to try new things and wasn’t afraid to ask.
Omar is a Mexico nursing graduate from UABC. He came to ECRMC a few years ago. I had the pleasure of meeting him when he first joined ECRMC. Since day 1, Omar was eager to try new things and wasn’t afraid to ask. Omar’s priorities are his patients and coworkers. He’s always willing to give a helping hand. He is proactive and a critical thinker. Omar’s strengths were especially noted during the beginning of the pandemic and even today. He faced challenges head-on, working with the critical care team to do anything and everything to assist our ICU COVID patients. He understands team dynamics; he is an integral part of the team, all working towards a common goal.
Omar is often the leader of this team, even if he is not assigned as Charge Nurse at the time. His coworkers value him. They know that if Omar is there no matter what they face, they will work together, and with Omar’s guidance, they will get through it. His opinion is respected and heard by all whom he encounters. His positive attitude and humor are infectious. Thank you, Omar, for the excellent representation of what our nursing profession is capable of.
