In the quiet of the women’s waiting room, where the walls hold stories of courage and resilience, the patient’s daughter sat as she did each day, waiting for her father to emerge from his fourth round of radiation. The journey had been long, filled with worry but also moments of grace. As she waited, she listened to the stories of women warriors—each battling cancer in their way, each bearing silent strength. One woman, her face weary yet determined, shared her struggle: the relentless nausea, the absence of appetite, the questions that seemed to have no answers. The daughter felt a familiar pang as she remembered her search for guidance. But she also felt hope because she knew someone who could help—someone who had helped her. She spoke of Oni, the nurse who had become more than just a caregiver. She recounted Oni’s patience, how each question she asked—no matter how small—was met with kindness, and how compassion radiated from her like a light in the dark. She offered the woman the number for the Rapid Treatment Center, urging her to find her nurse, someone who could guide her as Oni had guided this daughter. Today was a milestone. Her father would complete his last round of radiation, and though the journey was still uncertain, Daughter held tightly to the hope that he would regain his strength and appetite. Through it all, one thing remained constant: gratitude. She was thankful for the miracle workers like Oni for the gift of time they had been given to her father and for the absence of pain in his treatment. As Thanksgiving approached, she found herself reflecting not only on the struggles but on the blessings—the people who had stood by her family and the kindness that had carried them through. And so, she wrote to Oni, her heart full of admiration: "May you always know the gratitude we hold for you, not just on Thanksgiving, but every day. May God’s blessings surround you and your family as you have blessed ours." With deep gratitude and love,

Thank you, Oni, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
