...The patient came back for Antibiotic treatment a week after being discharged. Due to the Antibiotics the patient was going into renal failure. Sunday morning at change of shift Opal took one look at the patient and knew that the patient was in fluid overload and that they needed Stat Medications. Opal remained calm and gave the family reassurance that their family member was being helped and was going to be ok. Later, the patient shared that she was scared and felt like she was going to die because she was not breathing properly but she knew that Opal was there to take care of everything. If it had not been for Opal's quick thinking, excessive knowledge in patient care, and her calm demeanor, the outcome would have been much different and not in a good way.
Opal is an awesome lady to work with. Working with Opal is a learning experience, she is pleasant, kind and it is obvious she loves her job.
