Recently, Ora responded to a call. It wasn't a typical Rapid Response call. This one was for a grieving mother who had just learned of an unfortunate outcome for her child. Upon arrival, the mother was understandably very upset and was lying on the floor of the waiting room, crying, screaming, and mourning her child. Ora didn't hesitate to get on the floor with the mom. Ora's compassionate way of conversing with the mom persuaded her to get off the floor and into a chair. Ora was able to quickly assess the mom to be sure she did not sustain any injuries while comforting her. Ora has a way where she can be very caring yet firm. This trait helped the mom give Ora the okay to call family to come stay with the mom. Ora spoke with family in a way that showed concern without giving out medical info. Ora stayed past her shift out of concern for the mom. She sat with her, talked with her, and comforted her in a very bad time. As a bystander, it is obvious that this mom needed someone, and Ora filled that need perfectly. Answered our questions, willingly shared updates, and empathized with us as human beings.
