Congratulations to our newest DAISY Award Honoree, Oralia Arredondo, RN, Cardiac Rehab! Oralia was nominated for being a leader and advocating for her patients.

Oralia goes above and beyond for her team and department every day. Here are just a few of the amazing things she has done.

When a former patient hosted a golf tournament and asked Cardiac Rehab to come spread awareness on the importance of heart health, Oralia was there.

She reinstated the Fresno Mended Heart Chapter at Saint Agnes. This organization is a patient-led group that offers support, educational programs, home and hospital visits, and awareness for all types of heart diseases. Oralia spent several months reaching out to members and figuring out how to get the group going. The whole process took her 2 years!

She played a leadership role in organizing the Cardiac Rehab team for the 2024 American Heart Association Heart & Stroke Walk, and she helps organize Cardiac Rehab Week. Her creativity with themes, games, and prizes helps make the week memorable.

She advocated replacing the water fountain in Cardiac Rehab with a water bottle refill station so patients could properly hydrate after their workouts.

“There's no limit to what this amazing woman can do! She is always thinking of others. We are honored to have her on our team,” says the nominator.

Thank you, Oralia, for your commitment to your team and patients.
