Prior to having Orian as my nurse, I was brought to this unit for having a series of seizures. I am a mama of five little ones and have never experienced this before so it was very terrifying to me, not to mention the fact that I could not remember anything from the previous week of hospitalization after being hospitalized here in the Neuro ICU.

The morning that Orian was assigned to my case, I was very emotional and found it very hard to wrap my head around the fact that I probably wouldn't have been here, had it not been for my husband being home that day with it being a Sunday and being home from work. Orian was so very caring and compassionate, and got me out of my bubble by just talking with me as though I was a human. Not just a patient. She shared personal stories with me as a travel nurse and carried on conversations that made me truly feel like she was there to care for me with such compassion and from the bottom of her heart rather than this just being a job for her.

As I'm typing this I am in tears. She truly touched me very deeply and I will forever remember her. I told my husband that I needed to nominate her and that I needed her to know just how much she meant to me. Orian is so very kind and truly showed just how much her job meant to her and how much she cares for others. It is not just a clock in, clock out for her, this is her life. And she truly shows that. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, from one healthcare worker to another.

Thank you, Orian, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
