Oscar was my first male nurse. I was skeptical after meeting him and I wasn't nice to him. I am ashamed. When dying of cancer, he showed me dignity when I had to use the restroom. He took the time to listen to how it may be easier to fix the portable toilet in a way that gave me dignity and respect. It brought tears to my eyes. He also showed others our idea. It was the most humane thing any nurse ever has done for another human being. He is kind, understanding and he put faith in humanity back in my soul. I will never forget this kind soul that in my eyes is the best nurse I have had the pleasure to know. I am the worst patient ever and he helped me when I wouldn't let anyone help me.
