April 2022 Honoree
Osteria Williams, RN
I was admitted for an observation stay. I had to have potassium added to my IV. It burned so bad and I could barely tolerate it. Osteria explained that she could run it through saline as a piggyback to decrease my anxiety and pain. She was gracious, and kind and spent time explaining my plan of care. She always delivered on what she said she would do. In a time when healthcare has changed so much, she exhibits what being a caring nurse is all about. I have been a nurse since 1990 but am no longer in a clinical setting. Osteria is light in the very scary and dark environment of hospital care. Nurses like her should be recognized.
Thank you, Osteria, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
