Pablo's skill, knowledge, and true concern allowed me to take a breath and feel things were going to be ok.
My daughter had a routine tonsillectomy on Monday. Around 7am the next morning, she was throwing up blood and in bad shape. We live an hour away so I quickly drove her as fast as I could to the ER. After many hours of feeling very scared and being alone in the hospital, I was so relieved when she was taken back to surgery to resolve the problem. When she was taken to recovery it took quite a while before I was able to go back with her. Pablo called me and let me know how she was doing and sent someone to help me back to recovery. I was instantly comforted by his kind and caring presence. It was very visible he really cared how my daughter was doing and also cared about how I was feeling. He went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable. He diligently stayed on top of her medication because of a mix-up at the pharmacy. He explained everything in great detail to me and answered all my redundant questions with care and concern every time! I had not slept in 24 hours and was very anxiety-filled due to the situation. Pablo's skill, knowledge, and true concern allowed me to take a breath and feel things were going to be ok. He made sure she was comfortable and safe before releasing her. He took extra care and time to listen to me and address all my concerns and questions. He went above and beyond what he had to do and his presence was very comforting in a very difficult time. My daughter has spent much of her life in hospitals, doctors' offices, and ER rooms due to her many health conditions. Pablo is honestly the kindest and most knowledgeable nurse we have experienced. MMC is lucky to have him and represents a gold standard that others can learn from. Medical situations are stressful and people need support when experiencing hard times. Having Pablo as our nurse was the peace we needed. Thank you, Pablo!
