Paige did an outstanding job bringing her concerns to me about a patient who had recently been signed out to me. This prompted a reassessment and consequent escalation of care (repeated lab: lactate). The lactate was rising despite IV fluids so additional IV fluids were given and consultant care secured immediately after CT results. In turn, due to her concerns, the patient's pain was controlled in a timely manner. This is a great example of nursing and physicians working together to improve patient care.
