Our Campus is proud to announce Paige del Castillo, RN, in Women’s Services, as recipient of the DAISY Award, which recognizes one nurse each month for going above and beyond to deliver exceptional patient care.The designation, presented in collaboration with The American Organization of Nurse Executives, is part of the DAISY Foundation’s national program to recognize nurses who serve as role models to colleagues throughout the profession.

“I’m so excited and honored to receive this amazing award,” said del Castillo. “My patients are very important to me and I’m incredibly humbled that they took the time to nominate me.”

Paige received numerous nominations. In fact, one patient had every single member of the family fill out a nomination form to recognize her.

A former patient of Paige’s wrote, “I don’t think my labor would have been smooth without her. I learned more from Paige in the 12 hours she spent with me than any book could give me. She knew I was nervous and calmed my nerves by talking me through everything. She has been the most caring person I have met here and I wish every new mom could have her as their nurse. She went above and beyond!”
