Our daughter spent 155 days in the NICU, and it felt like 150 of the 155 nights were spent with Paige. Paige was there from the very beginning to the very end. She has a confidence and a way about her that immediately puts me at ease. That helped me sleep better at night. Not only is Paige an incredibly talented nurse, she's also a very talented artist. Paige documented each month of my daughter's 5-month stay with beautiful art and footprints. One of the most difficult parts of a NICU stay is feeling like you are missing the joy most new parents experience. Parenthood feels surreal. I can't tell you how much joy these prints brought me during her stay. They helped normalize the experience a bit. I even used a set of prints that she made to make a Christmas ornament. Paige is a very special nurse, and I hope this award will be a small token of thanks.
