Pam discovered that a 17 year old pediatric patient far from his home and family in Vietnam was recovering from an emergency endoscopic surgery. He is a McDaniel College student who is just starting his freshman year and had only been in the United States for one month. While recovering, the patient was very worried about missing school and not having his books to do his homework over the weekend. Being concerned and compassionate, Pam drove to the college and found the patient's dorm, picked up his laptop and books and brought them back to the patient on the pediatric unit.
