Pam was caring for my dying father. Her caring manner toward him and my entire family was noted by my mother, brother and me. As a nurse, I hold other nurses to the highest standards. Pam demonstrated not only a patient bedside manner, she obtained dressings and pads for an injured elbow from a fall earlier in the week and was also teaching a new staff member. I noted her knowledge and technical skill and was also educated in the care of my dying loved one. Pam made a special neck roll out of linens to make him more comfortable, all while teaching technical skills and supervising other staff. Pam was attentive to mouth care, skin care, and patient repositioning in a way that stood out from her colleagues, many of whom we also hold in high esteem.
