Pam Forgille, RN

ICU had a patient with a very difficult social history who had been in and out of jail several times. She was difficult as a patient, but Pam was determined to give her a good outcome. Pam and the Social Worker worked very hard to set up plans for the patient prior to discharge and made sure she had clothes and shoes. Since her discharge, the patient has continued to call Pam daily to check-in. Pam encourages her and gives her someone to be accountable to. Pam has found donated clothes for the patient and bought her a pre-paid phone card to ensure that she has continued phone service. The patient ends every phone call by telling Pam, "I love you", and Pam says it right back, every time. I have no doubt that Pam has made a huge difference in this patient's life by showing her care when no one in her family ever had.
