A PA asked Pam Cole to help a patient on another floor. Pam, having her own patients, handed them off to another nurse without hesitation and went to 3 North to help immediately. The patient had a wound that was draining, a wound vac that was not working, and her bed was soiled so Pam cleaned the patient and the bed. The patient stated to Pam, "Although you work on another floor, you came over here to help me". Pam replied, "It's what I am here to do, it doesn't matter what floor I'm assigned, you are my patient."
Pam embodied team work and commitment that day. She went above and beyond for the PA and the patient.
