I was so impressed with Pam Head. Her attentiveness to my father as he was recovering from open heart surgery goes above and beyond anything I have ever observed from a nurse. Her assertive yet compassionate demeanor did not go unnoticed by any member of my family. While I am so impressed with the TLC that everyone in ICU gave me family, it was Pam who was there when Dad was extubated. I felt like she was really advocating on his behalf. As Dad continued to awaken, Pam was attentive to not only his physical needs, but she took a great interest in making sure his emotional needs were met as well. Not only did she attend to Dad, Pam also went out to her way to pay special attention to my mother who had been a nervous wreck through this process. I will be forever grateful for everyone who took care of my Dad during this trying time. Honestly, I didn't come in contact with a single person in ICU who wouldn't be worthy of this award. However, what I observed from Pam goes beyond just hard work. What I witnessed was a young woman who not only loves what she does but is also very gifted.
