My husband was going through emotional decisions alone, neither one of us have family to rely on; Pamela made sure he understood what was going on with my condition and helped him understand what the doctors were saying. She made sure I was taken care of and continually monitored my condition. She encouraged my speedy recovery and never hesitated to help me out (even calling back a friend for me).
One thing that really stands out for me was when the decision to disconnect my oxygen, I was so afraid; however, Pamela said we can always reconnect my oxygen if need be, we disconnected and I never looked back.
I also watched her mentor and encourage new RN's. Pamela's grace, compassion and encouragement made me get better so fast it surprised my husband and me and I was able to be home on my 48th wedding anniversary.
Without Pamela, I still might be in ICU. Pamela instinctively knew my husband needed help and was there for him and me. She is the best!
