The facility administrator was so impressed he called me at home in the evening and said that Pamela's leadership made what would have taken 2 days was completed in a single day.
Pamela has worked in the HMC COVID Vaccine clinic several times. During one shift I mentioned that I had offered to assist with vaccinating seniors living in an assisted living facility (ALF) but was going to have to cancel due to personal conflict. ALF have limited nursing staff, and this would put a hardship on the vaccination team. Pamela asked me about it and realized that the ALF was near her home. She immediately offered to assist with vaccinating this vulnerable population.
On the day of the vaccination, Pamela arrived with 3 or 4 other nurses to assist. Per the ALF administrator, she coordinated the flow of the clinic and was able to assist with vaccinating about 400 seniors in a single day! This is made even more remarkable since Pamela was not familiar with the ALF or the other staff (pharmacy leadership). She simply saw a need and used her leadership skills to meet the community's needs. Her commitment to the vaccination program and promoting the health of her community is amazing. The facility administrator was so impressed he called me at home in the evening and said that Pamela's leadership made what would have taken 2 days was completed in a single day. Pamela's contribution to the health of her community is remarkable! She did all of this with little recognition but because it was the right thing to do.
