Paola Gomez-Reyes, BSN, RN

Paola is the epitome of a compassionate nurse. She is the heart and soul of the Med Surg unit. Paola is notable for her impeccable clinical skills, drive for excellence, and knowledge. She has an incredible dedication to her patients and her coworkers. What sets Paola apart is her compassion, her ability to see people, both coworkers, and patients, as unique individuals deserving of compassion and dignity. Any time a nurse on the floor needs assistance with a difficult situation or advice, Paola is always there, without complaint, and has a willingness to help.

During my relationship with Paola, I have experienced an individual who is eager to work hard to achieve her goals. As a nursing student myself, Paola takes the time to educate me on why certain procedures need to be done. One situation that really stands out to me, was seeing Paola, composed and confident, tend to a patient that had coded. She immediately put her skills into action and began CPR, until the rapid response team arrived. In addition, Paola is exceptionally gifted at making others feel comfortable and always maintains a positive attitude.
